Of course you can read this on the Chattanooga FC web site, but we thought we’d re-post it here too (with a few comments and questions). Mark your calendars appropriately Chattahooligans!
April 30 (Sat) – HOME vs CFC Cup Champion
What is the CFC Cup? And who is the champion? This is clearly not an NPSL game.
May 7 (Sat) – HOME vs Jacksonville United
A new NPSL team… Hard to tell from their web site if this is a new team or if they have just expanded their U19 team to now compete in our conference. Florida has some good soccer, so it will be fun to see what they’ve got. The only problem is that they’ll no doubt have serious jet lag traveling that far…
May 13 (Fri) – AWAY at Atlanta Silverbacks
This NPSL Southeast Region opener is at Silverbacks Park (instead of at the high school Atlanta FC used to play at). We may have to make the trip just for the pageantry of the whole ‘associated to a pro team’ aspect of it all.
May 21 (Sat) – HOME vs Knoxville Force
Season home opener for NPSL play. This will be the first look at one of several ‘first season’ teams in the NPSL. Curious to see the new competition.
May 28 (Sat) – HOME vs US Open Cup Competition
Apparently this will be yet another game against our NPSL Southeast Region competition (making a third matchup with someone), but if we win, we are one of 4 teams from the NPSL in the US Open Cup. This is potentially a big deal — if we can win in the first round or two, we advance to playing some pro teams (USL, NASL). If we advance even beyond that, we get a shot at MLS teams. A bit of a long shot, but isn’t that what it’s all about?
June 4 (Sat) – AWAY at Jacksonville United
Should be a difficult one, traveling so far and the Florida heat and humidity!
Jun 11 (Sat) – AWAY at Rocket City United
The same sketchy field that we played on in the 2010 National Championship. Hopefully in better condition this year.
Jun 18 (Sat) – HOME vs Rocket City United
An unfortunate scenario where we have to play each other 2 weeks in a row. Let’s hope we don’t meet during the Open Cup playoffs too…
Jun 25 (Sat) – HOME vs Atlanta Silverbacks
We’ll be curious to see if the talent and coaching changes much under this new partnership for the former Atlanta FC.
Jul 2 (Sat) – AWAY at Georgia Revolution
Our almost annual 4th of July match is now an away game on the weekend before the holiday. Will be interesting to see the talent level of this other new Atlanta team.
Jul 4 (Mon!) – HOME vs an international opponent???
We’ve heard rumors of this game, but don’t know enough about it to post… Would be fun on the 4th, but is it wise to have a tough match only 2 days after an away game???
Jul 9 (Sat) – HOME vs Georgia Revolution
Not one but two back-to-back meetings in one season. Somehow a tad anticlimactic.
Jul 16 (Sat) – AWAY at Knoxville Force
We’ll close out the regular season away from home this season. Is Regal Stadium where the Lady Vols play?
If we can repeat as NPSL Southeast Champions, then we’ll have to worry about the National Championship schedule, but that’s not posted yet anywhere on the NPSL site.

“On April 23rd, over 20 local adult teams will compete at Camp Jordan to be crowned the 2011 Chattanooga FC Cup Champion! The winner of the tournament will play Chattanooga FC on April 30th at Finley Stadium.”
Keep in mind that CFC is still trying to add another non-league game. The rumor I heard last year (with no recent talk since) is they’re trying to get DC United to play a German team in Finley to commemorate the VW plant opening. Ideally, this imagined game would be a double-header kicked-off with CFC vs the DC U-20 reserves.
Even without the dream CFC v DCU/ DCU v Ger matchups, I like this season. Hosting the Cup playin Tourney should be wild. And if we can capture the Div again, it’s only another short trip to H’ville for the NPSL Final Four.
It would be great to see DC United vs. FC Wolfsburg in a VW themed event

Can’t find the NPSL NC schedule? You novices. Just go to RocketCityUnited.com and look at their schedule. (They’re hosting the event again this year.)
We\’re not sure if being called \’novices\’ by a grown man who dresses up in full train conductor garb — including overalls, hat and gloves — AND who wears a mask (???) and clanks a cow bell at EVERY (yes, home and away) game is a good or a bad thing…

Actually, the NPSL championship rotates through the various divisions…I believe it is the west regions turn to host the championship in 2011, if I remember right. It will be 3 more seasons before the southeast region hosts it again. Hopefully it’ll be here at Finley and not at the highschool stadium in Huntsville.
George, you are mistaken. Last year at the National Championhip in Madison, AL they announced that the 2011 tournament would be held in the exact same place.
We have also heard that in the future the tournament will be awarded to the best ‘bidder’ — regardless of the location. Don’t know if that’s true.
