Did anyone see the ad for Chattanooga FC in a recent Eurosport (sorry, I don’t have it in front of me at the moment – not the newest one, but one with an African national team on the front I think)? Very cool that the organization got props from probably the oldest most famous (and “fabled”) soccer traders in the US, but a bit of a missed opportunity… I mean the photos were a neat idea, but WAY too tiny. And why did we only talk about Eurosport in the ad? No mention of how to try out for the team or the success of last season or our great fan base or even about the NPSL.
Anyone know how we got in?

Hey John Q. – this site is pretty cool. It’ll be great if you really get CFC fans to use it!
About the Eurosport ad: one of our board member (Krue Brock, quoted in the ad) was ordering a bunch of stuff from them and asked if we could get an ad in, they said sure. We designed an awesome full page ad (I will post it to the Widgets & Stone Flickr page) and sent it in 6 weeks before the deadline. The day of, Eurosport sent the redesigned ad (the one you saw). When we asked if we could edit the design, they said it already went to print. As so-called “brand director” I am a bit frustrated and feel like we missed an opportunity… perhaps next time.

Hey, good news, in January 2010 Eurosport is running our version of the third-page ad! Nice to get a second chance… I hope it will run before the January tryout session.
